Product description

1- pack anti-corrosion primer ALN 002 003 10 is a zinc chromate-free single-component product based on polyvinyl butyral, that is used for paint repairs on passenger cars.

With its special combination of pigments and binders, the primer provides good corrosion protection and adhesion, and is also certified suitable for application on welded joints.

1-pack anti-corrosion primer is non-conductive which makes it unsuitable for use with spot welding.

1- pack anti-corrosion wash primer ALN 002 003 10 should be coated over with a 2-pack HS surfacer when dealing with residual rusted areas, on edges and corners and on exposed metal spots.

Product description

Thanks to the mutual interplay of electrochemical properties, zinc spray D 007 500 A2 provides optimal protection against corrosion on iron and steel.

Sprayable zinc-rich corrosion protection primer in a spray can. Basis: zinc with epoxy binder.

Dry film has good adhesion on cleaned metallic parts and offers high level of abrasion resistance as well as good conductivity when dry.

Its “self-healing” properties allow zinc spray to reclose minor surface ruptures to provide extended protection for metal surfaces.

Applications

In the context of body repairs, zinc spray D 007 500 A2 is used for “regalvanisation” of welded and transition points on galvanised parts, especially those that are not painted over.

Provides corrosion protection between welding flanges with MIG and spot welding with dry film thickness of 20 –30 μm.

Zinc spray is especially valuable in applications that demand high levels of resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress .

Application

Before starting application, read information on safety measures and safety advice in the safety data sheet.

Even for products which are not required by law to be labelled, the usual safety measures for chemical products must be observed.

Zinc spray should not be used at temperatures below 10°C and above 80°C

The temperature of the metal surface must not exceed 30°C, but should be at least 3°C above the dew point.

– When it is necessary to paint over a layer of zinc paint, start with a trial application over the dried zinc coating to test for compatibility.

Good results can be obtained using 1-component cover coats.

Cleaning

Caution: Solvents can dissolve the paint.

– Remove splashes immediately with acetone or Teroson FL.

– Use zinc spray at room temperature.

Spray can

– Shake the spray can vigorously.

– If the ball rattles, continue to shake for 1 minute.

– Hold the spray can upright and apply two to three cross coats at a distance of approximately 20 to 30 cm.

– To prevent clogging of the nozzle, after each use (or any interruption of the spray operation), hold the can upside down and press the spray button until the material flow stops (i.e. until the valve is empty).

– After fully emptying the spray can, dispose of it as recycling material.
