Removing and installing washer fluid reservoir

The windscreen and rear window washer pump -V59- will henceforth be referred to as “windscreen and rear window washer pump”.

Removing

– Remove front left wheel housing liner → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66; Wheel housing liner; Removing and installing front wheel housing liner.

– Place commercially available drip tray under washer fluid reservoir.

NOTICE

Risk of leakage.

– The washer fluid reservoir and the filler neck are not intended to be separated from each other.

– Release locking devices -2-.

– Detach filler neck -1- upwards out of retainer -3-.

– Disconnect electrical connectors -2- and -5-.

– Release and pull off washer fluid hoses -4- on windscreen and rear window washer pump -3-.

– Pull wiring harness retainer -1- off washer fluid reservoir.

– Unscrew bolts -1-.

– Pull washer fluid reservoir -2- off guide rails, and remove it.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Note

To prevent incorrect connection of the washer fluid hoses on the windscreen and rear window washer pump, the connections on the windscreen and rear window washer pump and washer fluid hoses are colour-coded. The connection pieces of the washer fluid hoses must be inserted in the corresponding colour-coded connections of the windscreen and rear window washer pump during installation.

Removing and installing washer pump [V59]

Windscreen and rear window washer pump -V59- is referred to hereafter as “washer pump”.

Removing

– Detach front left wheel housing liner → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66; Wheel housing liner; Removing and installing front wheel housing liner.

– Place commercially available drip tray underneath.

– Disconnect electrical connector -2-.

– Pull out washer pump -1- upwards.

– Disconnect washer fluid hoses -3-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Note

In order to prevent the washer fluid lines from being interchanged when connected, the connections are colour-coded and must match the colour of the corresponding pump connections when they are fitted.

– Check sealing grommet for damage and correct seating.

Removing and installing washer jets

Removing and installing washer jets

Left washer jet heater element -Z20- and right washer jet heater element -Z21- are comprised in the washer jets:

Removing

– Open bonnet.

– Push washer jet upwards in direction of -arrow A-.

– Swivel washer jet downwards out of bonnet in direction of -arrow B-.

– Release securing clip -1- in direction of -arrow-.

– Pull off washer fluid hose connection -2-.

– Disconnect electrical connector -4-.

– Remove washer jet -3-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

NOTICE

Leaks at connection of washer fluid hose.

– When fitting the washer fluid hose, securing clip must engage audibly in the connection of the washer fluid hose.

– Starting at the top, push washer jet into mounting hole in bonnet until washer jet is heard to engage.

– Adjust washer jets → Booklet; Window wash/wipe system and headlight washer system: checking function.
