Removing and installing PTC heater element 3 [Z132]
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ hose clamps, up to 25 mm in dia. -3094-
Removing
DANGER
High voltage can cause fatal injury.
Danger of severe or fatal injuries from electric shock or electric arcs.
– Have a high-voltage technician (HVT) or a high-voltage expert (HVE) de-energise the high-voltage system.
– → Rep. gr.93; De-energise high-voltage system.
– Remove air intake box of heater and air conditioning unit → Rep. gr.87; Removing and installing air intake unit of heater and air conditioning unit.
– Clamp off coolant hoses -2- using hose clamps, up to 25 mm in dia. -3094-.
– Detach clamps -3-, and pull off coolant hoses -2-.
– Unscrew nut -3-.
– Remove potential equalisation line -2-.
– Unclip retainers -5-.
– Disconnect electrical connectors -4- and -6-.
– Detach electrical connector -2- from bracket -1-.
– Push aside coolant hoses -2- and -4-, and unscrew bolts -3-.
– Detach heater element (PTC) 3 -Z132- -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

● Contact surfaces must be clean.
– Clean soiled contact point of potential equalisation line → Electrical system; Rep. gr.97; Cleaning contact surfaces.
– Connect potential equalisation line -2-, and tighten nut -3-.
– Connect electrical connectors -4- and -6-.
– → Rep. gr.19; Cooling system/coolant; Filling cooling system.
WARNING
High voltage can cause fatal injury.
Danger of severe or fatal injuries from electric shock or electric arcs.
– Have a high-voltage technician (HVT) or a high-voltage expert (HVE) re-energise the high-voltage system.
– → Rep. gr.93; Re-energising high-voltage system.
