Preparation for paintwork structure

Materials:

♦ Brush VAS 294 015

♦ commercially available viscose sponge

♦ commercially available spray bottler with water

♦ Matting gel Z 380 887 TE A / 3M 50018

– Thoroughly clean the entire front bumper thoroughly with clear water.

– Use silicone remover LVM 020 000 A5 to clean front bumper.

– Wipe the front bumper dry with a clean cloth.

– Moisten the structured area -1- on the front bumper -2- with a water-filled spray bottle.

– Use matting gel Z 380 887 TE A / 3M 50018 and brush VAS 294 015 to sand structured area -1- with circular and diagonal movements.

– Clean structured area -1- on front bumper -2- from top to bottom with a viscose sponge and a water-filled spray bottle. Make sure that the abrasive material is removed thoroughly and completely.

♦ Check the quality of the grinding pattern when the component is dry.

♦ If the grinding pattern is of insufficient quality, repeat the process until all corners and edges in the structure appear to be matt.

♦ The smooth surfaces are processed according to usual methods.

– Use commercially available spray bottle to apply silicone remover LVM 020 000 A5 to front bumper. Clean the structured area with a clean and dry cloth.

– Apply base coat according to specifications in → General information, paintwork.

– Apply clear coat according to specifications in → General information, paintwork.

The radar sensor cover -1- must not be painted or covered with adhesive film and must be ordered using the respective colour code → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA).
